Unlike many other spiders, Crab spiders do not spin webs.  They catch their prey using
speed and camouflage.  The first two pair of legs on a Crab spider are longer and
stronger than the last two pair, this is the probably easiest way to identify them.

Twig Crab Spiders (Timarus rubrocinctus)
I was hiking Torreya State Park with my brother, Mike, and
Photo Naturalist, Billy Boothe when we encountered this
little critter...and I mean little.  It was just over an 1/8th of
inch long and well camouflaged.  I'm still not sure how the
photo turned out as well as it did.
